Frederik Rolin
Despite his recent graduation Frederik already has a large repertoire of performed operatic
roles which include PAPAGENO in Die Zauberflöte for Copenhagen Opera Festival and later
the same role in a chamber version at the Royal Danish Theatre. YAMADORI in Madama
Butterfly at the Royal Danish Theatre, ANGELOTTI in Tosca and SCHAUNARD in La
Bohème both with Danish touring company GuidOpera. At Opera Hedeland Frederik has
performed the roles of CONTE ALMAVIVA in Nozze di Figaro and MORALES in Carmen. At
Copenhagen Opera Festival’s production of Rape of Lucretia he did TARQUINIUS, for which
he received great reviews. A genre which Frederik holds very dear is operetta and he has had
the pleasure of performing DANILO in Die Lustige Witwe and DR. FALKE in Die Fledermaus
both with The Danish Operetta Company and in season 21/22 CASCADA in Die Lustige
Witwe at the Royal Danish Theatre.
A keen recitalist Frederik has performed at the Danish Embassies in Paris and in Lisbon as
well as the lied festival Der Zwerg in Sindelfingen, Germany. In Denmark Frederik has
performed many lied recitals at numerous festivals and has attended art song courses with
Helmut Deutsch, Malcolm Martineau and Olaf Bär.
He also performs in various oratorio engagements including Handel’s Messiah, Gade’s
Elverskud, Nielsen’s Springtime on Funen, PEER GYNT in Grieg’s work by the same name
and the requiem masses of Mozart, Brahms, Fauré and Durufle as well as an extensive
repertoire of sacred and secular concert works.
Frederik is very grateful to have received the Léonie Sonning talent prize, the Hans Voigt
memorial prize and scholarships and rewards from the Danish Arts Foundation and the
Augustinus Foundation.
