Johathan Ware
Born in Dallas Texas, Jonathan Ware studied at the Eastman School of Music, The Juilliard School and at the Hochschule für Musik ‘Hanns Eisler’ Berlin where he now teachers.
He won the Pianist’s Prize at Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song and Das Lied Competitions, and in 2014 won 1st Prize in the International Hugo Wolf Competition and was selected for representation by Young Classical Artists Trust London. He was a winner of the inaugural Dallas Symphony Lynn Harrell Concerto Competition.
Sought after as a song accompanist and chamber musician recent highlights include recitals with Christina Sidak at the Berliner Festspiel, Golda Schultz at Lauenen Chamber Concerts and with Dame Felicity Lott at the Blaine Southern Gallery London.
He has collaborated with Michael Collins, Benjamin Baker and Amy Harman at venues including the Bath International Festival, Saffron Hall and Bridgewater Hall.
Engagements this season include recitals in the Festival Dialogues at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Mojca Erdmann, the Hugo Wolf Akademie in Stuttgart with Ludwig Mittelhammer, and at Wigmore Hall London with Peter Moore, Benjamin Appl, Tara Erraught and Ann Murray.
Passionate about the song repertory Jonathan was co-artistic director of a Schubert and Co., a festival in New York devoted to the performance of the complete Schubert Lieder.
